Lionel Messi won the best men's football player despite the recent criticism coming to him
While still waiting for the ultimate Balon d'or award for the year 2019, Lionel Messi has been named the Best International Men's Football Player at the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Awards despite having a not so good performance at the just concluded copa america hosted and won by Brazil. He however won the award by beating Ronaldo, Mbappe and van Dijk of liverpool yet again in the voting process.
