Without controversies, Messi is the greatest player, plays against and destroys world class defenders of the top 5 teams of the best leagues in Europe and at the world cup all the time so he really doesn’t need to play elsewhere to prove this. Barça suits him just fine.
Every player even aspires to play for either Real Madrid or Barcelona, they are amongst the best so I think Messi staying put there is wisdom.
