Abuser is brewing

Edit: After a quick clarification with @patrickulrich on stopgaps I feel better knowing that once someone is on the radar. There are several safeguards to prevent huge payouts. We should all still be vigilant for abuse and content stealing. But it makes me proud to be a part of STS.

Whenever I notice a drastic change in payouts I can tell that someones powered up a ton. Usually this is a good thing.

Not right now.

Meet @shukh

He powered up over 1 million SPORTs. 1 million and 100 hundred thousand as of this writing to be exact

And what quality content is he making?

Not much. Just reposting a popular youtubers content as his own. Literally copy and pasting a link from youtube!

When I share my videos it was either my own game or I had written permission from friends who owned the game.

Scary part is he has voted them yet. He's waiting right before payout so his mega vote doesnt make it go to trending.

This isn't fair to any of us who are making quality content and for you dear reader who will see their payouts plummet.

First I want to say a very sincere thank you to @swolesome for monitoring our community and seeking out users who display behaviors commonly seen with abuse. It will be Steemians like yourself that will enable #sportstalk to properly grow.

As for @shukh I'd like to also say a quick thank you. It appears they have been supporting the marketplace with lots of buy orders as it appears most of their stake comes via SPORTS purchased on the marketplace.

I hope all users use SPORTS in a way that doesn't harm the community including pure unadulterated self voting. We take actions like that serious to the point where users can be moved to our penalty box which removes their ability to participate in the community. While we don't take that action lightly we also don't take abuse against the community lightly either.

Very nicely stated. Navigating these waters is very difficult and with the barrage of info it's not an easy task to not be one to "see the forest for the trees". You interacting with us "normies" is very refreshing and @swolesome is aces. Have a great weekend!

It was the heart covered emoji.

I was worried it was shingles O.o

Hi there, well I just visited his page and it seems that all of the posts he made is basically not related to sportstalk, correct me If I'm wrong about this. Yes sportstalk has an eSports tag but I guess those videos he had, even though they are really his property, doesn't fall to that category. I guess steemace.io is the best place for his posts but not sportstalk. This is just my opinion though. Why don't we ask @abh12345.sports @patrickulrich @cryptoandcoffee @rokyupjung @pouchon4sports @talesfrmthecrypt @sportsmod and I'm sorry if I am unable to mention others whom I know will try to stand against such abuse. I don't personally know these guys but I've been seeing these people's quality posts. I guess a warning from the moderator will be fair enough.

Then I guess this can be reported to SteemCleaners? Don't you think?

Steemcleaners have no SPORTS stake so couldn't do much here.

I see... But I guess we do have the capability of reducing if not completely stop those who abuses the community such as this one with the help of the free downvote.

I agree that the content thus far is probably better suited for steemace.io. I view #esports as more of a competitive gaming category where users are sharing posts around gaming competition and not just casual play. My votes towards these categories will reflect that! :)

That's also my understanding about eSports as what was defined by wikipedia : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esports . Also can't we have a discord channel wherein we can chat, post links, make reports for abuses like this and etc.

There's one available now but it's not been publicly announced due to not being complete in the form I'd like to see it. That being said you're welcome to join in now discord.sportstalk.social

Wow! Thank you! I've been actually looking for Sportstalk channel since the day STS has been released. Thank you and keep being awesome!

Esports
Esports (also known as electronic sports, e-sports, or eSports) is a form of competition using video games. Most commonly, esports takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams. Although organized online and offline competitions have long been a part of video game culture, these were largely between amateurs until the late 2000s, when participation by professional gamers and spectatorship in these events through live streaming saw a large surge in popularity. By the 2010s, esports was a significant factor in the video game industry, with many game developers actively designing toward a professional esports subculture.

@wikitextbot this is the first time I've seen you and you're awesome! :)

Me too, that was good timing!

Sorry to pick out this post to rant but I checked sports talk discord and it doesn't seem to have an abuse section where we can report stuff

I found this person they have 3 accounts, posting the same shit! I've downvoted them now, is there no blacklist we can use?

Thanks for that. I will be paying them a visit. I do watch closely but stuff still slips bye.

If he can be reported under plagiarism then he can be reported to @steemcleaners . There are enough of us here with enough SP between us to dock his rewards if we get the timing right. Great spot :-)
PS. As he s also self upvoting his own comments already, the can't @sportsmod get involved?

I also do self-upvoting specially on my own post and comments but I don't think that those comments he/she made deserves to have 6000+ Sports reward. 100% upvote for your own post for me seems justifiable but in regards to upvoting a comment, giving small reward is fine for the effort, me I'm upvoting up to around 1k Sports depending on the content of the comment but not to the point that the reward for the comment is way larger or even close to the reward of the post itself. I guess we really need to check that guy out and make use of our "FREE" downvote if needed to.

I have a feeling that @sportsmod will certainly be watching for these! :)

I reckon the comments will be hit this week sometime. 👍🏽

Thanks for keeping it clean mate! Regards.

I try ^.^ why havent you joined my game yet man. Nearly 200k sports up for grabs now!

@swolesome It is not good to make a decision about anyone in your mind without thinking about it.

I for one will be looking out and downvoting any abuse. We need to keep this place clean and let anyone know that this wont be acceptable behavior in our tribe.

Oh i thought that mod video of Gta was his channel damn
