Christian Araneta doesn't have a chance to win the world title after losing in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight title eliminator bout against Mexican Daniel Valladares on September 8, 2019 at the Arena Jose Sulaiman in Monterrey , Mexico.

Omega Boxing Gym head Jachoy Junco told SunStar Cebu that Araneta had quit in the fourth round after injuring his shoulder.

Junco said that Araneta could have argued so well that the Mexican nose was bleeding and his eyes were swollen again.

But despite the loss, Team Araneta is still proud of their ability and intensity.

Junco said they are still grateful for the support of the Filipinos and he is confident that they will continue to fight for the world title.

He pointed out that Araneta was never in her prime and would become stronger and more open then it would be a chance again.

It was Araneta's first loss in 18 fights with 14 knockouts as the win raised Valladares' record to 21-1, 13 KOs.

In the win, Valladares earned the right to compete with IBF light flyweight king Felix Alvarado in the championship match.
