Mont Ventoux

The area of the Mont Ventoux in Provence, France, is cycling heaven. All year long, you can't ignore them. The cycle tourists come in masses, to live their dream, ride up the monster of Mont Ventoux.

Last year, we were on holiday in that area, and we went out on a hike in the Gorges de la Nesque, a beautiful natural canyon next to the Mont Ventoux. That day, I am not exaggerating here, I spotted thousands of cyclists that where on the start of their infamous climb to the moon landscape of the top of Ventoux.

The vibe that hangs around there is fantastic, no competition, just drive to help everybody to the top. With cheering, and spraying of water to cool the cyclists down. Amazing sense of sportsmanship, even though it's not a race.

Amazing place, amazing vibe, just sport in it's purest way!
