It's astonishing how quickly all the papers are suddenly deciding that OGS is brilliant and that everyone should be in this for the long haul because he got one good result against Liverpool over the weekend. Prior to the match everyone was saying how he's on the way out and that he had to go. Should one good (Or Bad) result really change everyone's opinion on a coach that easily?

While it is understandable to say that it was a good individual game for OGS considering he tactically got the better of a coach as good as Jurgen Klopp, it's also worth noting that it was the kind of coaching you see from second rate managers that thrive at second rate clubs. Elite clubs don't play park-the-bus football. Klopp himself even mentioned how when Mourinho did this, everyone thought he was biggest jerk of all time because there was no imagination in Mourinho to actually try to win the game. This is 100% true. Mourinho never seemed to play Klopp to win the match. Rather to just get the draw. But all of the sudden when Ole does it, he's brilliant? No. United are not supposed to be approaching games against Liverpool (At home in particular) as though draws are a great result. Also consider how they were leading the game and blew it (And for the 4th time this season no less).

United are on just 10 points through 9 games. When you consider they have blown leads in 4 that they ended up drawing, they'd have almost double the points they have if a better coach who didn't allow that stuff to happen was there. It's unbelievable to think this result alone should save Solskjaer's job. It absolutely should not. This guy still has to go. It's still apparent that someone like Allegri would be doing better if he were the coach. If Allegri isn't who United ultimately want, that's a different story. But ultimately they do need a world class manager who all the player's respect.

Ultimately this result is just going to put Ole in the job a little bit longer. But they are still in 14th and that should not be forgotten. Their only saving grace is that they are only 2 points shy of 7th place Tottenham and 7 out of 3rd place Leicester. But the time to get an elite manager is now while the gap is only that small. There's a reason Allegri gave them a time window. He knows he can still finish top 4 if he took over now. More dropped points will only widen the gap. Do others really think Solskjaer is the guy?
