An Ideal United Line Up With 3 Signings

Bench: Romero, James, Tuanzebe, Martial/Rashford, Shaw/Williams, Greenwood, Lingard

The entire outlook of the team would change for the better with these 3 being entered into the lineup. To have the firepower of Martial or Rashford along with Greenwood and James on your bench would be a huge boost as it would actually look respectable who can come on. The speed could be deadly after the other team got tired. This said, it would likely cost 200 million plus to bring these three in and I have my doubts that even if that was accomplished, Pogba would be willing to stay, leaving a hole in his position that would be hard to fill. However, if that were to happen, a significant portion of the cost for Haaland, Maddison, and Sancho would be coming from Pogba's fee. That should open the door for them to fill the spot with someone else. I do find these three the most likely candidates. United is linked with everyone but these three actually "Fit" the parameters for what the club claim to be the transfer model going forward.

Even with these three added I wouldn't say they could compete for the league with Liverpool and City. That's how good those two teams appear to be. But they should finish third with this team. But that's the progress that would convince me that it's ok that it could take a few years for them to challenge for titles. Ultimately, even though I like him, McTominay should be a role player sitting on the bench at best if we're talking about a team who can win the league.

No one should be shocked that Fred, Mata, Pereira, and Young (Among others) were omitted. Some could play a bit part role but shouldn't even be making the bench if this team is to compete for top 4. The sad thing is at the moment several of them are all starting big games. It's rough.
