According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe, Pascal Siakam has agreed to a four-year maximum contract extension with the Toronto Raptors.

The Team and Siakam had until Monday to agree with the extension deal, otherwise he would’ve become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2020. The maximum extension will pay Siakam $130 million over the four-year deal, which will begin on 2020-21 season and will keep the rising star in Toronto until 2024.

The NBA power forward is the third player in the 2016 NBA Draft to agree a max contract joining Ben Simmons of Philadelphia 76ers and Jamal Murray of Denver Nuggets. Siakam was drafted as the 27th overall pick by the Raptors. He is an integral part of Raptor's first NBA Finals championship last season by averaging 19.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.7 blocks per game in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

The Cameroonian player had a breakout 2018-19 campaign after named as the NBA’s Most Improved Player by recording an average of 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in the regular season. The season prior, on his second year in the league, Siakam recorded an average of 7.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 50.8 percent shooting and 22 percent from beyond the arc.

This deal is a big move for Toronto Raptors. He's now expected to be the go-to scorer following the offseason departure of Kawhi Leonard.

Is this to much or did he deserve it? Let me know of your comments below.
