Take Flight Once Again, D-Rose

Many point guards are rising and becoming superstars in the NBA right now. Players like Stephen Curry, Russel Westbrook, Damian Lillard, and Kyrie Irving had become all stars and many upcoming point guards are getting better.

However we had forgotten one point guard who has been great before these players had been known. And that is the no.1 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Derrick Rose.

Derrick Rose was a great point guard and it was difficult to stop him before his injuries. He was too fast for any player and when he drives, the blocker could not even predict him because of his variety of moves. Many ankles were broken because of flashy crossovers. Rose is just too athletic during his prime and the Bulls become the favorites to become NBA champions.

Derrick Rose became the youngest player to win an MVP in 2011 at 22 years old. His athleticism, moves and his attitude is what makes him an MVP at a young age. There was a time that Lebron and Wade tried to block him during a fastbreak but did not succeed. Imagine that, two best players are defending him but could not catch up to Rose's speed and athleticism.

During the 2011 playoffs, Rose lead the Chicago Bulls but the chance of getting a ring became slim when he was injured with a torn ACL. Untik then, when was about to make a comeback another injurie occured with a torn meniscus in his knee. And then a series of injury happened to him and Rose moves was getting slower and was not able to become the player during his MVP days. He was not as explosive as he was before the injuries.

Rose was traded to different teams after his injuries. He went to the Knicks, Cavaliers and Wolves. But he was having a hard time to have a comeback.

Until one game came. Rose was able to have a career high of 50 points against the Utah Jazz when he was with the Wolves. Rose received MVP chants from the crowd. And judging from the crowd, I think they were able to see a glimpse of his MVP days. After the game, Rose was so emotional to have a game like that still hoping that he could rise up once again. He saw from the crowd that many still believes that MVP Rose would come back again.

Recently, Rose was traded to the Detroit Pistons. With stars Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, maybe they can have a great combo.

Together with the fans, I am among them who still believes that Derrick Rose will rise up again and still hoping to see the younger, faster, and stronger MVP Rose. I hope in his team right now, we can see not the former Derrick Rose but stronger MVP Derrick Rose
