Kawhi Leonard made the biggest move in the 2019 NBA Free Agency joining the Los Angeles Clippers together with Paul George. It was the most awaited move in this year's free agency. His top choices were the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors. He was close to signing with the Lakers or staying with the Raptors but he shocked the world joining the Clippers. He won a championship with the Raptors and named Finals' MVP. So, what's the real reason why Leonard did not choose to stay and defend their title?
So, the main reason is basically Family and home. There is nothing against the Raptors organization or other issues. Leonard just wanted to play home and make time for his family. It is very important to him. Of course, every professional player is too busy doing their work. But, they deserve to have time for their family. And for the Raptors, Leonard did his job there pretty well. He gave them a championship and that what matters most.
