May 12, 20: AutomaticWin, TripleTen, Xbox, Dryer Teardown, and Games
Up at five this morning, but only just shy of a full night. 👍 I haven’t been dragging too badly in the afternoon, so I think I’m doing alright there.
Same ol’ shiggityshite going for the morning routine...watched some crypto news on YouTube, hit my faucets, check the markets. No big moves yet really anywhere and STEEM still not getting much over 1900 sats (with HIVE holding around 3800, so still two to one in the wrong direction).
Set out pretty early with plenty of time to get another #AutomaticWin and #TripleTen. After like more than two weeks straight, it’s starting to become a habit. I suppose that’s one of the nice things about the springtime, that it’s lighter in the morning.
I got eight kilometers proper on the map and then did some laps around the house to finish up the #TripleTen.
However, the weather doesn’t reflect the time of year at all. I think we’re in sixth winter at this point. The wind wasn’t too bad, though.
The Moon was out and bright. 😃
It looks like my tree out front might not be doing so well with the cold weather. It’s usually full of white flowers, but they look kinda’ freezer burnt.
We went for quick swing by the lake. Didn’t see the swans today, but there were several families of geese there at the park.
Half of them saw us and decided to get out of Dodge, the others just sort of looked at us uneasily but figured it wasn’t worth getting in the cold water.
Afterward I played some Xbox. However, as seems to be typical with Sonic games, the levels become stupid hard and frustrating toward the end. I made some progress, but ended up rage quitting.
Went out and putzed around in the garage for a while. I got the rest of the old dryer torn down and everything potentially useful has been salvaged off.
I separated out all the steel parts that I’ll take to a guy that recycles it, cleaned up the wire to be stripped for the copper, and got all the aluminum broken up and sorted with the rest.
The trouble came with breaking apart the motor. I got most of the aluminum casing off, but when I went to cut the windings, they were just copper coated aluminum, not pure copper. 😢 That stopped me in my tracks and makes me wonder how much of the wire I’ve stripped for melting isn’t actually copper. 😭😡
I’m not really sure what to do with it...it’s mostly aluminum, but 10-15% copper on that coating, so melting it with aluminum won’t be pure, and even worse melting it with copper...maybe they’ll have to be separated again and made into a brassy ingot.
In the evening we had pasta and meat sauce for dinner and watched some more Dead to Me.
Once again, another uneventful day in the dCity. I’m glad that the robbing seems to have settled down a bit, but I still need a police station. Still waiting for the STEEM/HIVE ratio to be better.
I didn’t come close to finishing my Holybread tasks. 😡 I guess it’s been a couple of days that I’ve been successful, so it was just a matter of time.
I had three wins without neutral for the second day in a row for my Splinterlands quest today. I got it done pretty quickly, which has cut me a bit short on DEC for potions. There’s only two days left in the season, so I don’t really want to mess around too much trying to save up.
Got the quest done in Diamond I with a potion charge. Got a few good cards:
