"Blagoevgrad Griffins" are one of the oldest American football teams in Bulgaria. The club was founded by students at the American University in the city. In addition to Bulgarian players, there are also foreigners studying at the university. To everyone's surprise, many girls can be seen in the lineup.

"Griffins" are the organizers of one of the oldest flag football tournaments in the country. This is the "Griffin Bowl", which has been held in early April every year since 2009.
