Where is Kyrie Irving going?

in #sports7 years ago

If you have been following NBA basketball at all, you will likely know one of the better players in some time has demanded a trade.

This isn't all that unusual in the NBA, but it is unusual when that star has been to the Finals multiple times, is a multi-year all star, and hasn't even reached the prime of his career yet.

We are talking about a player that feels he is being under-utilized on his current team and would like a change of scenery.

Irving could very well be an MVP candidate on a new team, much like James Harden was after he found a new home.

Where do you all think he will end up?

Irving gave a list of preferred destinations, but that likely won't amount to much as his current team has a responsibility to try and get the best assets in return for him that it possibly can, regardless of location.

So far the teams with enough assets to be able to give the Cavs what they are looking for in return comes to just 2 teams, the Celtics and the Suns.

Each of those teams has solid veterans, young exciting talent, and draft picks.

However, the Celtics don't really need a PG and the Suns are unwilling to empty their coffers for Irving.

You casual sports fans out there, where do you think Irving will end up by the time the season rolls around?

On the Celtics?

On the Suns?

On a different NBA roster?

Remains with the Cavs?

Let me know your thoughts below.

I doubt the Cavs would trade Irving to their biggest Eastern rivals in the Celtics for the simple fact that they'll likely have to play them 8 or so times this year between regular season and playoffs. The Suns are a possibility, but they seem to want to keep their young core together and aren't willing to move their most highly touted prospects (Booker and Josh Jackson) for Irving. I think Miami could be a solid destination and don't count out Doc Rivers' Clippers to bring them back to relevance.

It's going to be hard for the Cavs to trade Irving. I think he starts the season with them and gets traded before the deadline.

I think he's staying in the Land for the time being.. In the end Cleveland will lose cause most likely LBJ is out next season, so if Irving goes and then LeBron bounces they will have.. Love? hahaha

I think he goes to the timberwolves! they're hesitant to give up wiggins, but I think a package around him might be the most intriguing to Cleveland right now! I think if I'm either of those teams I pull the trigger on it. Seems to me like the Cavs are calling Kyrie's bluff right now, When is he gonna make some kind of public statement? lol.

Even though I doubt he'll get traded, it'd be nice to see him to the Heat, where he can really shine.
