NBA Summer League Thoughts

in #sports7 years ago (edited)

As I mentioned in a previous post, the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas has had my full attention over the past few days.

It has all of the top picks participating and it has multiple top picks playing against each other every single day.

Well, it did until the number one overall pick went down with an injury...

That's right, Markelle Fultz is slated to miss the rest of the Summer League with a sprained left ankle.

That is a bummer for fans and for the player himself. However, the 76ers shouldn't be too concerned as it is sounding like it is just a minor sprain and he should be fine in a couple weeks.

Lonzo Ball rebounds.

Not literally, well actually he does that very well for a guard as well. After a sub-par game 1, Ball came out and shut up all the critics by dishing out a triple double.

He is going to be a triple double machine as he reaches his potential over the years. He is going to be the next Jason Kidd/Rajon Rondo, but a better scorer than either of them ever were.

He's gonna be scary good...

The biggest surprise?

Most people might be surprised by his performance thus far, but nothing Dennis Smith Jr. is doing should surprise anyone who has watched him previously.

The guy is an absolute stud. He has been lighting up the summer league, scoring and dominating games with ease.

He looks every bit the superstar I originally thought he could be.

The future is bright.

Overall the point guard prospects in this draft are absolutely amazing. There is a good chance Fultz, Ball, Smith, and Fox will all be all stars at some point in their careers.

That would make 4 pg all stars in the first 9 picks of the 2017 draft...

The future of that position looks bright in the NBA.

Summer League is great to see some of the young guys competing, but just remember last year when Tyus Jones was crushing the Summer League, that it's nothing like the actual NBA. Overall nice to see some of the young pups producing and getting a chance at some much needed play time.

The drafts are always so exciting, I always wonder what's next for all their careers.

Is it just me or is the offseason for the NBA better than the regular season/playoffs now?

Lonzo messsed around and got a triple double. His court vision is amazing. Dennis Smith has BUNNIES. Looking forward to seeing both of them develop.

Future all stars right there...

Nice post. Definitely excited for the upcoming season (at least for now, until the Warriors and Cavs dominate once again). Just a heads up that summer is spelled wrong in your title (at least for right now, you may fix it by the time I post this).

Thanks for the heads up!

Great post! I'm actually an avid fan of the NBA as well and will be posting in the near future. Please follow if you're interested and we can grow the basketball community on Steemit together! I've followed you as well and looking forward to more posts. Cheers bud!

Sure. I love basketball
