Picture of the day - Thierry Neuville is leading Rally Sweden

in #sports6 years ago

Hi, Steemers!
Hyundai works driver Thierry Neuville is leading WRC Rally Sweden after first full day of competition. It's very interesting because all top 3 places are reserved for Hyundai drivers. A. Mikkelsen is in the 2nd position and New Zealand's Hayden Paddon is third. Paddon jumped two places on the final special stage of the day to finish the day on third step of the podium.

World Rally Champion Ogier finished the day 12th place and tomorrow he will be 2nd on the road and that means more road cleaning for him. So, not good day for him, or maybe better said, not good rally for him.

Roads are full of snow with high road banks so there's not so much retirements because snow banks return the car back on the road.

So, today's picture of the day belongs to Thierry Neuville and his Hyundai who are in the lead of WRC Rally Sweden 2018.

I really like this sport ,, than for sharing,, suxes for you

I'll consider this is the biggest success Hyundai ever had in WRC. Am I right? Honestly, I wasn't aware they might be so competitive.

they already have some wins behind them and they have the best car at the moment

I've already researched the topic a bit. I was amazed to see only 4 manufacturers at the championship.

yeah, wrc isn't that popular in medias after 14 years of domination of two drivers. also paying drivers are not good for this sport. paying drivers mean drivers who bring money to buy a seat in a factory team. that can not be good. that's why sport is not popular that much.

Thanks! I see I should keep reading to learn more about what I've missed for the past 15 years. By the way, recently I read the whole history of Rally Dakar from Wikipedia. It's an impressive story that started at the end of 1970s.
