How is wearables currently used?
The wearable market stretches far beyond Sports and Fitness.
An interesting application is the PlayGoal Device, which locks childrens devices like mobile phones and kindles, until the child has reached sufficient activity for a day.
The touchscreen band works by being paired with PlayGoal’s Android app. From the app, parents can set specific physical goals for their children. Once the goals are met, only then will their devices be unlocked.
Wearable devices will be one of the ways that SportsPodium will ensure data accuracy when building the largest sports database in the world.

There were talk a year ago about a computer eye that would give blind people vision again and that it could store up to 3 gb of pictures within the eye, i think we will see techs like that the coming 10-20 years.

All smartphones have the "tracking" where they can at the least track your steps and altitude..
Just bought my lady an Apple Watch for this reason.. blahh
