Breaking News: New York Yankees Trade for Giancarlo Stanton

in #sports7 years ago

The New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins have reached a deal that will land Giancarlo Stanton in the pinstripes. This move is similar to the Golden State Warriors adding Kevin Durant 2 years ago.

Stanton is the reigning National League MVP and had the best season of his career. Last year he batted .281 with 59 home runs and 132 RBI. He is built like a defensive end and hits the baseball with such high velocity that is only matched by his new teammate, Aaron Judge.

The Yankees were only 1 out away from the World Series last year. Now, they will be the favorite to win it all. The Las Vegas Sportsbooks have already adjusted the odd of the Yankees winning the World Series to 11/2. Stanton will complete the murderers row of Judge/Stanton/Sanchez that will terrify opposing pitchers.
Stanton is 28 years old and in the prime of his career. He has the world’s largest sports contract at $325 Million. But the Yankees will still remain under the luxury tax. That means that they still have a ton of money to throw at free agency. Washington National Bryce Harper will become a free agent next year. If the Yankees sign him, this may be the best lineup in the history of baseball.
What do you think of the trade? Let me know and thank you for following me @scottybuckets Cheers!

Wow! That's a blockbuster! I hate that Miami is throwing away its young core. It's like Jeter bought the Marlins just to help out his old team.

Yeah isn't that convenient that he did the deal with the Yankees? Marlins will never compete when they are trading away MVP's. I'm glad I'm not a Marlins fan or I would be done.

was gonna say at least the got an NFL team to cheer for...but even thats a little far fetch calling the Dolphins and NFL team..

The Dolphins are definitely having a disappointing year. The Jay Cutler experiment was a failure.

At least they have only dealt with the Cutler experience for a season. Sadly, I'm a Bears fan...

At least you're not going to go 0-16 like the browns! ;) and absolutely blow two opportunities to get franchise QB's. Can they do it 3 years in a row haha.

Not sure if this was the right move for the Yankees. They already have a high strikeout homering monster in Judge. When they are on they are going to crush. When they hit the strikeout blues it'll be a big hole in the lineup. Makes the Yankees a more all or nothing lineup. Good enough to get into the playoffs, but maybe in trouble when facing strikeout aces like Kluber in the postseason. Time will tell, but there is going to be some serious fireworks in the Bronx next year.

Why anybody would support the Marlins now is beyond me.

thanks derek jeter :)

Home run derby at the All Star game will be the "Yankee Invitational" now. I just hope it doesn't screw up Judge for 2 months like it did last year.
