While everybody's waiting for the 14th of February, basketball lovers will be anticipating the 16th-18th of Feb for the all star weekend holding at staples center in Los Angeles, California, home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.
So an All star NBA weekend starts on a friday and ends on a Sunday.

Friday

  • 7 p.m. All-Star Celebrity Game presented by Ruffles
  • 9 p.m. Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars

Saturday
8 p.m. | State Farm All-Star Saturday Night

  • Taco Bell Skills Challenge (first event)
  • JBL Three-Point Contest (second event)
  • Verizon Slam Dunk (third event)

Sunday

  • 8 p.m. 67th NBA All-Star Game

Over the years in the NBA we have had some crazy dunk contest with outstanding contestants, from the likes of Michael Jordan, Spud Webb, Dominique Wilkins, Nate Robinson, Vince Carter, Zach Lavine, Aaron Gordon and lots more.
One of my favourite in recent time will definitely be the 2016 dunk contest with Zach Lavine and Aaron Gordon. That was the definition of sick, there's no doubt that both were champions despite Zach going home with he's second consecutive slam dunk trophy.
We saw crazy dunks like Zach's windmill from the free throw line, Zach's between the leg dunk still from the free throw line, pretty crazy right?.

Gordon's dunks were in no different crazy. He had the crowd pumped up with dunks like between the leg pick and jam over a mascot, one had pick and jam with hands on his head from a mascot on a hover board with the ball stretched out his right hand spinning round.

All dunks were energetic and the creativity from the contestants definitely made it one to be remembered.

So this year's contestants will be

Aaron Gordon
The 22 year old of Orlando Magic will be making his third apperance, we've seen amazing dunks from him particularly in 2016. Although he participated in last year's own he couldn't make it to the final two, I'll excuse him because of he contested with an injured ankle. So he's definetly a favourite here looking at his performance in 2016.

**Victor Oladipo** Victor Oladipo will be the only player performing in both the slam dunk contest and All star game. The Indiana Pacer's guard is one of the notable dunkers in the NBA, this will be his second contest after losing to the two time champion Zach Lavine in 2015. ![image]()
**Dennis Smith** Dallas Maverick's guard has proved his worth on the air several times with athletic dunks. Most of his dunks involves him beating a defender at the 3 point line and finishing with a flush. He'll have to be creative and do something special to get to the final and win the contest. ![image]()
**Larry Nance Jr** It's been 24 years since his father won the first dunk contest. The Laker's Larry Nance Jr have made buddies with the rim with several posters and aggressive dunks. He'll be playing in front of his crowd, so he'll definitely want to put on a show. If he gets to win it he'll be the first Laker to win the title since Kobe Bryant in 1997. ![image]()
**My Pick** I'm predicting Aaron Gordon and Larry Nance Jr in the final. As much as Larry Nance Jr has all the motivation to win it and perform even better than his dad. My pick will be Aaron Gordon. I know he has everything it takes to win it. Personally I think he's the most creative contestant in this year's contest. It's no doubt he'll have to be in his A game to win this one, both mentally and physically.

I think Gordon will not be there, I'm going with Donovan Mitchell has great jumping power and a physicist similar to Lebron James, I think if you use your creativity tonight making use of its potential you can win the competition.

Yeah, Gordon was out cause of injury, his replacement was lit. Donovan showed both creativity and leap, congrats to him and you to for your accurate prediction.
