RE: Golden State vs Cleveland Part IV: The Unfortunate Sequel

in #sports6 years ago

Unfortunately, I don't think this series will be very competitive as you have also predicted. Barring an injury to one of the Warriors stars the Cavs do not have a chance. At most I give Cleveland one game as the Warriors may get bored at some point, which Lebron will recognize and look to capitalize on leading to one of his signature "King" performances.

I expect we will hear more about Lebron's future during the Finals than the actual games being played because there will be nothing to talk about as the Warriors win by double digits each game. I can potentially see the dynasty talk being delayed a year as well since the Warriors ended up beating the Rockets without Chris Paul in the final two games along with the poor matchup against the worst team Lebron has ever carried to the Finals.

I completely agree. I do feel like this year has less appeal than years past, though it is still fun to watch Finals matchups nonetheless. I also feel like reporters are going to be gung ho about asking Lebron questions about his future after each loss. The questions will begin to irritate him more and more as the series progresses. In year's past, in David and Goliath matchups, there was always a sense that the underdog could somehow pull out a victory. I don't see any chance whatsoever that it could happen this year. Golden State is too deep and Cleveland is too pedestrian at all phases...except for Lebron.

Couldn't agree more with you, and in fact we really tried to DEFINE why...
