The beginning of a New Era
Finally, the new we have all been waiting for (I mean followers of Arsenal FC) came this morning after Unai Emery announced that Club captain, Granit Xhaka has been stripped of the armband and no longer part of the captain-team, meaning we now have four captains in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette with Aubameyang the first captain.
With no disrespect to Granit, A lot of Arsenal fans and even football pundits questioned his appointment in the first place but popular opinion has it that he is popular in the dressing room and among the players. His regular mistakes that cost us was the major reason a lot of people kicked against the decision.
He is indeed a nice person and I so much love him but such cannot be said for his game.
While it is not certain where his future lies with Arsenal, I still wish him all the best, always.
MY OPINION
The decision was one that took too long even though we all saw it coming. It may once again point to Unai Emery's cluelessness. In all, I believe like other fans that Auba has been doing it even before now and would not stop now. I just hope some fans stop calling for his head when Arsenal isn't doing well.
