The Way-Too-Early Prediction on Who Won the Pistons-Clippers Trade

in #sports7 years ago

Two games into the Detroit Griffin Experiment and the Pistons are undefeated.

After reviewing the Pistons beat the lowly Griz on Thurs night, I watched them win against a quality Heat team yesterday -- much to my surprise.  I thought for sure Miami would run them off the court and expose their lack of chemistry.  Especially on D.

That wasn't exactly the case.

Drummond, Griffin and Ish Smith all had big games while Stanley Johnson and Reggie Bullock stepped up.

So let's look at SJ and Bullock now that they've been plugged into the spots that Tobias Harris and Avery Johnson used to fill.

In two games, SJ:

14/3/3/1/2-3s  &  13/7/2 with key defensive plays in both games.

In those same two, Bullock:

15/2/2-3s  & 8/3/1/1/2-3s

Neither of those are mind-blowing, yet they're still significant.  If the Pistons can rely on SJ and Bullock for 25+ points a game with some key defensive stops and more than  a couple 3s a game, that'll more than compliment Griffin, Drummond and Ish Smith (or RJax.)  If everyone stays healthy, they'll no doubt make the playoffs.

THE WAY-TOO-EARLY CALL ON WHO WON

The Pistons...?  No.  It was Reggie Bullock and Stanley Johnson.  If those two find consistency, they're definitely going to get themselves PAID.
