I believe that James Harden has now decided to look at the importance of the defensive pressure he can offer on the floor.

Watching his pre-season games you can see he is not only being more vocal but taking it to the ball handler and attempting to block shots in the paint.

Defense is something that has let his game down in recent times and in turn limiting the Rockets going further in the playoffs and challenging for a spot in the NBA Finals since leaving the OKC Thunder.

With Chris Paul joining in the off season maybe Harden has a point to prove to himself or the team that he can take them the next step towards a championship by leading by example. The Rockets start their season with a tough trip against the defending NBA champions being the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday October 17th.

    In some aspects yes..

    Defense on the floor has changed since perimeter shooting had dominated open play.

    In saying this for some players even having a contested hand in the face on the shot can help put them off their rhythm!

    It's doing the small things that shows commitment in what can be a game decided in only a small number of passesions.

        When I grew up Utah Jazz with Stockton and Malone, few years ago I had a season seat for the Raports they feel like my team now

        Nice, I think that the Toronto franchise is really important to the conference..

        It's only going to take some moves in free agency to pick a few more pieces to add to the roster but let's be honest it's hard to compete with GSW anyway for the next 4-5 seasons if they all stick together.

        Hopefully this season goes well for you :)
