Meet Murph, Hero WOD

in #sports6 years ago (edited)

After moving to Dubai, my way of relaxing and staying sane after a 9 hour job, sitting in front of PC was joining the CrossFit box.

I am sure that all of you know what CrossFit is, but maybe you didn't know that everyone in the world is doing the same workout, workout of the day (WOD) which is always publically announced on crossfit.com.

Usually the workouts are pretty standard, but sometimes a Hero workout is announced. This is a workout which is honouring the real world fallen heroes. And today it was Murph's turn.

He was a Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy (29) from Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This was his favourite workout and he named it body armour.

The hardest workout I have ever tried.

While sweating and swearing, the only way of keeping the count of reps is marking it down :)

This is one crazy workout! How long did it take for you to do it? And with how many breaks in between? :)

hour and few minutes. Not really with breaks in term of resting but I had to break down the reps, pull ups and push ups in 10, squats in 25. Few guys were doing it in one set with 20 pound weight vests on :)

Khm ... hvala za spodbuden opomnik 👟👍🏻👋🏻

did a modified version of "MURPH" last weekend while on vacation. Have not done the full workout yet but look forward to doing it! always out of town when they do it at my local box!
