NIGER SELECTED AS PART OF AMERICA FOOTBALL MAP IN AFRICA………………..SPORTS COMMISSIONER SAID THE SELECTION IS GOVERNOR ABUBAKAR SANI BELLO’S ACHIEVEMENT IN SPORTS SECTOR Niger state had been selected as part of America Football mapping in Sub Sahara Africa; this was made known when a delegation of America Football paid the Honourable Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, Honourable Duza Babur a familiarization visit in his office. The Commissioner who shown his delight over the mapping stated that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello had provided the enabling environment and opportunity for sports to strive in the state. Honourable Duza explained that the sports restoration agenda in the state will create a multiplying effect that can boost the local economy, he said friends of Niger and companies will be mobilize towards showcasing an American Football clinic in the state capital. The Commissioner stated that already two athletes will be sort out from the three geopolitical zones to participate in the forthcoming Abuja American Football Clinic; Honourable Duza said the game is capable of creating chain of employment opportunity and can serve as a community service to society. Similarly, the Director of Sports, Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, Alhaji Baba Sheshi, stressed out that sport is a capacity building venture that can address insecurity and idleness in the state. He however pinpointed that sports keep people from social vices, Alhaji Sheshi welcome the delegation and said the Ministry is open to new ideas and initiatives, he stated that the American Football had created an opportunity for those that are left out in the game of soccer. Meanwhile, the delegation led by Amadi Chukwuemeka reiterated their commitment towards the development of American Football in the State; he said Zaria was the first province known in the American Football map in Nigeria. Coach Amadi stated that with the addition of Niger state in the map, this had made Niger as one of the American football talent ground in sub Sahara Africa. He said the mapping will enable Niger state to have American Sports Academy that investors will build which he said can serve as a breeding ground for professional league abroad. Coach Amadi finally confirmed that America Embassy in Nigeria are supporting the initiative for entrenching American Sportsmanship in Nigeria and the state. Part of the Delegation is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Non Governmental Organizations, Comrade Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso.
