in #sports7 years ago

British referee Mark Clattenburg won praise after a match at the Saudi King's Cup on Wednesday night between Al Feiha and Al Fateh at King's City Sports Stadium Salman bin Abdulaziz. The game was stopped because the Adzan (call to pray for Moslem) voice was heard for the prayer. It was a match at 1-1 after 90 minutes, the encounter continued into extra time at King Salman bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium.

Mark Clattenburg is almost a year away from the Premier League. Undoubtedly, he is currently an important referee in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. Last Wednesday night he led a match between Al Feiha and Al-Fateh in the Saudi Arabia Cup. The match entered the fifth minute of a 1-1 draw extension.

A few moments later came the azan from the mosque around King Salman Stadium, Al Majma'ah. The sound of Azan immediately snapped at Mark Clattenburg. Then he stops the game in honor of an echo that sounds echoed from a mosque near the stadium.

British referee Mark Clattenburg received praise from the entire audience. In fact, football fans in Aceh followed the birth of March 13, 1975.

"This is a great example for referees in the third world, and he appreciates the cultural differences between his country and his new workplace," said Edi Darman, a soccer observer for me.

In my place, Clattenburg's actions are not strange. Ever in Aceh Governor Cup 2010. In one of the matches at Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh involves South Korean team. The referee canceled the match due to the azan. But Korean players feel "weird". Once explained they just understand.

In February 2017, Clattenburg took a surprising decision to maintain the position as a Premier League referee. He accepted the offer of the Saudi Football Association (SAFF). Clattenburg currently serves as the Referee Chief of the SAFF to replace Howard Webb. The decision also made Clatteburg lost FIFA's referee badge.

Turning professional

Clattenburg became a FIFA referee in 2006, at the age of 30, two years after turning professional. He refereed Alan Shearer's testimonial match on 11 May 2006; he is a Newcastle United fan, and therefore does not referee competitive games involving Newcastle. On 9 September 2006, he took charge of a qualifying match for the 2007 UEFA Under-17s Championship at the Gradski Stadium in Skopje between Macedonia and Denmark; the away side winning 3–0. Premier League exit

Clattenburg has a pretty shiny career. Referees from Consett, County Durham, have a great game, including the 2016 Champions League final and 2016 European Cup final.

Clattenburg through the Premier League game 2000 ago, when he was 25 years old. The last match of the flamboyant man himself at the top of England is Arsenal against Hull City at Emirates Stadium.
