I think you gave the perfect answer. It all can come down to statistics as well as to each player being remembered by his fans that grew up with him while he was at the top. If I told you few names of my “the greatest players” list, you probably would know most of them, but there would also be few you may not agree with. For example my greatest player of all times in iced hockey would be Jaromir Jagr, I assume you would say Wayne Gretzky. Then goalkeeper Dominik Hasek and your choice would be probably different. I’m going a bit of your list now lol. With that said, my personal choice of greatest golf player would be Jack Nicklaus. However, if Tiger Woods didn’t become such a jerk, I would probably choose him. When it comes to greatest tennis player, I have to give it to Roger Federer. His consistency just amazes me. I don’t think I have to write a name of the greatest tennis player when it comes to women 😆.
