La Liga have Saturday night matches but the culture is very different. Primetime NFL and hockey are staples of US and Canadian television too.

Personally, from an armchair point of view, I quite like the idea although I can't imagine Watford v West Ham keeping me in or justifying negotiations with the girlfriend for the remote. It would also of course be difficult for match going supporters who need to catch trains, but not as inconvenient as Friday night matches.
And then there is the argument of whether we need football on all the time.
