This fight is a sweet treat for anyone, even if your new to MMA & don't really get the thing, man! You need to see this fight for sure. The co-main event of UFC 219 is a lightweight bout between a world-class striker in Edson Barboza. Damn, world-class grappler, Khabib Nurmagomedov is a totally different beast in that octagon.

The eagle people commonly call him. Is a two-time Combat Sambo World Champion, a freestyle wrestler and a Judo black belt coming from mother Russia. Dagestan to be precise. Hardcore MMA fans know about Khabib for a long time. Russians really have their own way of doing things, history has shown us that many times. Do you imagine yourself "playing" around with a real bear as a kid=?

Did I mention Khabib holds an undefeated MMA record of 24-0 and did not lose a round in his whole career?Yeah, true story! You also might think, why is this man not a champion? Good question, injuries have been a big part of Khabibs MMA run. Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to see much of Khabib lately. He pulled out of his last fight with now the interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson due to a hard weight cut. Or simply tiramisu ain't the thing to eat in the week before fighting, ha? Still, I love to see him back cuz the dominance he puts on his opponents is out of this planet!
Its clear some folks on the list are not top-ranked fighters but we all have to start somewhere yeah? I dunno if he still trains at AKA team, I do know his still putting in the hard work!

Is a Brazilian, former Muay Thai kickboxer. Remember those movies we used to watch as kids, where a dude kicks people and they go flying thru the air? Edson is that dude in real life, man his highlight is a brutal thing to see! Leg kicks like a baseball bat, probably no man on this planet could take more than a few. Lots of fights as you can see below...
Moving from Brasil to the US is a move most fighters do eventually, not just fighters from Brasil. Improving your overall game is super important if you want to do good in the long run. Plus, getting bombs anywhere on your body sucks if you're not well prepared. Edson is always in a fight shape, shredded an ready to bang.
PREDICTION
Man a great matchup and it can only go one way, the awesome way. If I really need to pick one let me first make it clear why am I making this pick. I feel both never faced a fighter on the level their on right now. Khabib could rag-doll Edson, true. But don't forget Edson is a BJJ black belt and is no joke himself. On the other hand, we could see Edson at his finest and most definitely the advantage sits on his side if the fight stays on the feet. Both had a great performance in their last fights! Its gonna be an interesting one no doubt!
