Sports News!!! Warriors shatters Falcons’ winning streak In 27th JS CUP Semi-Finals 🏀
Good day Steemians. It's me again, @jameralim11, your cute sports writer on Steemit.
Yesterday I wrote a short blog about one of my passions which is basketball. Thank you to everyone who upvoted my first blog post after my self introduction. You made me very happy and inspired to write another entry.
For today's blog post I am going to share the highlights of our basketball game that happened this morning. It was us Pilot Falcons against Imelda Warriors. And what could be the best way to show what happened but to write an article the sports writer way. So here it goes.
A hard fought battle goes to the victors Imelda Warriors led by Andre Silawan with his triple-double against Pilot Falcons in the 27th JS Cup Semis, 99-98.
Silawan’s layups was the core offense on crushing Falcons at JS Gaisano Covered Court, January 27, 2018.
Moreover, tears were shredded on the winning side as they will be able to finally redeem themselves after a devastating loss last season.
“Finally we will have a shot at the championship after 5 years!” Silawan stated.
Falcons’ Nathaniel Vendal almost stole the game in the fourth quarter after burying back-to-back three point shots to steal the lead in crunch time, 96-98.
But Warriors’ sharpshooter Jade Largo did not lose hope and drilled a clutch buzzer beater to miraculously steal the game, 99-98.
“This was our last season as a team since all of us are going to graduate and separate ways but we were just too confident and our defense broke that’s why we lost.” Vendal said.
Falcons’ Jamer Alim started off hot in the third quarter after engraving consecutive three-point shots to stretch the lead, 67-58.
In addition, Warriors’ Michael Baruiz tried to catch up after shooting back-to-back layups and minimized the lead to 77-64.
Warriors’ tenacious trio Baruiz, Silawan, and Largo conjured 49 points, 17 assists, 21 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Falcons’ dynamic duo Alim and Vendal combined 32 points, 13 assists, 18 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.
On the other hand, Falcons dominated the second quarter as they rained 10 three-pointers on Warriors to get the biggest lead of the game, 54-32.
“I really thought we were destined to lose but I don’t know how but we pulled it off.” Warriors’ coach Jason Magalleon said.
Falcons kickstarted the game smoothly after sinking three-point shots to get the early lead, 20-8.
However, Warriors’ John Polinar got fired up and went on a 10-5 run to lessen the lead and end the first quarter, 32-24.
Familiar faces will face or team up next season when they’re high school students to bring entertainment once again.
So we lost! But we in our team always possess the virtue of sportsmanship, so with a smile on our faces we congratulated our opponent.
And that's all for today. Thank you so much for reading ates and kuyas!
P.S. My mom wasn't around to take photos earlier since she was busy with something else, so I just googled some related photo.
