Ronaldo overtakes Messi

Lionel Messi did not play in Malaga ground yesterday for the birth of his third son, Ciro.  

This however did not cause much damage to Barcelona. The Catalans won the match 2-0 at Malaga ground easily. But personally Messi will be disappointed, for sure, as Cristiano Ronaldo topped him by scoring two goals. 

Ronaldo was banned for five matches at the beginning of the season, which had negative impact on the performance of the Real Madrid. 

After only four goals in the first half of the league, he got the worst start of his career. Since the beginning of the year 2018, he got things totally reversed—scored 14 goals in the league in two months. 

In the Champions League, he scored two goals in a row against PSG. Yesterday this forward earned Real Madrid victory by scoring two goals. And with these two goals, Ronaldo has surpassed Messi in the season.

Until yesterday, Ronaldo scored 33 goals in this season. Portuguese forward has touched his age in just 34 matches. And in La Liga, although Messi scored 6 more goals than Ronaldo, but in all competitions, Messi scored 32 goals in 41 matches. 

To touch Ronaldo again, Messi has to earn his team the most valuable victory against Chelsea in the last sixteen match of Champions League to be held in the last of the week.
