Dolphin Push Up Exercise - Bodyweight Training 049

Now here's a super cool push up variation that mainly targets your shoulders and upper back called a Dolphin Push Up. Be sure to properly warm up your shoulders and hamstrings before you get into it as your shoulders will be moving through a large range of motion and your hamstrings will be getting a good stretch. If you have tight hamstrings don't worry you can do this exercise to with your knees slightly bent. I really enjoy doing this one and personally I think it feels great and I also like that it is such an unusual and often unknown push up :)

That's actually good for your core and will target your shoulder and traps. I wonder how more intense it would be if you were to posture up on full extended arms. That would kill your lats for sure.

I haven't seen this with straight arms but I have seen it done in a forearm handstand push up.

it can be a good beginners exercise who want to progress to the Hand Stand Push-Up exercise.
