Is Neymar worth over 600 million USD?
That is what Paris Saint Germain will pay to be able to have Neymar with them for 5 years. A load of money. But let's be clear on something sports have gotten out of hand with prices since a long time ago, baseball players, basketball players , American football players, tennis pros, golf pros, athletes they all make outrageous amounts of money. Are they worth it? They must be or nobody would be paying them so much.
Furthermore let's look at it from a different perspective, Floyd Mayweather stands to make up to 400 million USD in his upcoming fight with someone whose name I can't even remember, that's 400 million for a fight that will last at the most 2 hours. That's about 55,000 dollars a second. And just think if it only lasts one round.
That's what sport professionals are worth these days, I don't believe anyone else makes that kind of money doing what they like, I kind of envy these guys, and frankly not for the great amounts of money, which in itself is great, but because they get to make a great living doing what they like to do, not many people can say that.
Now here on Steemit I know there are a lot of very good writers who enjoy writing and are practically making a living here, they are also to be commended, because I think that is what life is about, do what you like without hurting anyone else and live off of it. Of course I know some people are butt hurt because these athletes make so much, they also don't like to see people make too much money on Steemit, but that's just a relatively small percentage of people. Some also feel slighted by something they read, don't be, if you feel hurt maybe the article is right.
I say, if you are an athlete a writer or whatever and you can make money off of doing it, just do it the more you can get the better it is for you, just one word of advise, don't spend it all on crap, use your head, in that aspect writers have a longer work life than athletes you can write until the day you die, an athlete eventually just burns out.
