SURPRISE...Miguel Montero Gets The BOOT - Cubs Make It Clear "Don't Talk Sh*t About Our Ace"...
Well it is no surprise that Cubs catcher Miguel Montero received his walking papers today. Less than 12 hours after his tirade against Cubs ACE Jake Arrieta as the reason why he gave up 7 stolen bases in the game, the Cubbies DFA'ed him. Which means he will be released. They could put him on waivers but I don't see any team picking him when they can wait for his release. He certainly wont be sent to the minors...so expect this guy to be a free agent soon.
It was a bizarre, crybaby, and selfish thing to do to call out a teammate. Let alone your ACE. He needs a dose of reality. he is 0-31 on throwing out base runners this year. The Nationals DID NOT attempt to steal 7 bases yesterday because of Arrieta. They did so because Montero can not throw anyone out. lol.
The Cubs do not lose much. Montero is on the downside of his career. Last year was his worst year and even though the Cubs won the World Series he still complained about the way Joe Madden used him. lol...EARTH to MONTERO...you won the WORLD SERIES because you were SELDOM used. lol
Anyhow, let hope this is a lesson to everyone. Keep all your baggage IN HOUSE. Taking it to the media NEVER works out.

He gets paid no matter what. He is in the last year of that RIDICULOUS contract he got from the Diamondbacks. 5 years $60 million. He gets his $14 million this year whether he is behind the plate or on the couch.
I think he knows this is his last year. He sucks now and he will never get more than the league minimum. I think yesterday was his last game.
It takes serious balls to call out Arrieta like that. Shameful on his part, Arrieta wasn't to blame for Montero's problems.
I don't think he had anything to lose. He is in the last year of a $60 million dollar contract. He knows his playing skills have diminished to a point he will never make more than the minimum . I doubt he plays beyond this year and may never play again. He went into full damage control by posting all those nice tweets thanking chicago, the fans, organziation, team. lol.
