GGG is the bad man of Boxing

in #sports8 years ago

GGG is a bad man. He punches like he's got lead in his gloves. Everyone is out here thinking he tried vs. Kell Brook. He fractured his orbital bone with that left hook after he racked his ribs in the first. Then he decided to not box, and just get hit in the face so these middleweight chumps can go
"Oh, hes vulnerable, I got the recipe to beat him."
Ya'll been tricked. He got rocked in the face so these middleweights will fight him. You just got the recipe to get your ass knocked out.

He is by far the best middleweight and all he needs is that last belt that Saunders won't give up, so then he can move up to 168. Boxing has lost a lot of its viewership, and partially it's the UFC, partially it's promoters watering down the sport with multiple belts per weight class, part of it is god awful decisions like Kovalev getting absolutely robbed vs. Andre Ward and part of it is that in the Mayweather era, it has become boring to watch. Mayweather is great and all, but he has picked a lot of the fights he wanted to preserve his record, and spent a lot of time running and clinching in a lot of his fights. His fight vs. Canelo Alvarez was a fantastic display that made Alvarez look silly.

I don't think Alvarez stands that much of a chance vs GGG for a couple reasons. First he doesn't press enough. He is a counter-puncher, so he sits and waits until someone's punch goes awry and then beams them. GGG is smart, and fights the type of fight that needs to be fought for that particular fight. He will pressure Alvarez and cut off the ring, keeping him at bay with his jab and his footwork like he did in the fight vs. Lemeiux. Alvarez's camp knows this too, that's why they gave up the belt. Let me know what you think.
