NBA Blog #1 : Kobe VS Lebron

I love basketball. I always want to play the game. And when talking about basketball, NBA is the first thing that comes to our minds. I'm a huge NBA fan so I wanted to share my thoughts about the NBA here in steemit. I want to talk about the league, the players, the past and the present, all about NBA. I also want to hear your thoughts and opinions. So lets share ideas here.

This is my first blog about basketball. And my first topic is the comparison between Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.

Kobe and Lebron are two of the best players in NBA history. Both of them made a huge impact in the league. Both came to the NBA straight from high school and both have been very dominant in their early years. I'm a fan of both of them. Many people always argue about who is better, who is more successful. But who is it? Let's start by looking at their stats and achievements.

Kobe is known as the "black mamba". Kobe's style of play is said to be the closest's to Michael Jordan's. Kobe played twenty seasons in the NBA. He has eighteen NBA All Star appearances, one Season MVP, five championships and two Finals MVP. Kobe is an eleven time All NBA First Team, nine time All-Defensive First Team and two time Scoring Leader. Kobe finishes his career with 25 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assist, 1.4 steal, 0.5 blocks, 44.7% FG, 32.9% 3 point FG, and 83.7% from the Free Throw line. He has a 22.9 PER (Player Efficiency Rating). He had his best scoring season in 2006 where he averages 35.4 points per game. Wow. Can you imagine that. He's unstoppable that time. He is known for his "mamba mentality" especially when it comes to the playoffs. I praised Kobe for his love to the game. He has given his heart and soul for the game. He is very dedicated and hardworking. They say that he is the earliest to go to the gym and also the last guy that comes out of the gym. People will always remember his contributions to the game. Lebron James "King James", who doesn't know him? He is the best player in the world today. He has seven straight Finals appearances and now aiming for his eighth. He is now in his fifteenth season and currently playing his best season so far. He has four season MVP, three finals MVP, three championships, fourteen all star appearances, eleven All NBA First Team selection, Five All-Defensive First Team, one time scoring leader and rookie of the year. For his career, he averages 27.1 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, 7.1 assist, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks. He has 50.3% FG percentage, 34.4% 3-point FG and 73.9% from the free throw line. He has 27.65 career PER (2nd all time). He also played his best scoring season in 2006 where he average 31.4 points per game. Lebron james is not a selfish player. He is known for his great passing ability and rebounding that's why he is more of an All Around player.

Now let's talk about the debate of who is a much better player.

Lebron is an all around player. His explosiveness makes him a more dominant player than Kobe. His explosive power and speed makes him impossible to guard. But i think Lebron does not have the elegance which Kobe has. I think Lebron lacks style.

Kobe is a better finisher and defender. He can create space using his great dribbling ability. Kobe is much harder to guard because of his style. He's work ethic is in a very high level. He has so much passion. Remember when he won a Finals series with a damaged index finger? That shows his heart, his wil to win.

Lebron is much of a leader of the team. He makes everyone around him better. He has a very high basketball IQ. He can play every position. He has a vision of a point guard. He can create a shooting opportunity for himself in any position but if he saw his teammate has a better shot he will pass it.

Kobe has more championships than Lebron. He has a better supporting team around him including his coach. He won three of his five championships with Shaquille O'neal, the best center who ever play the game. And all of his championships with his coach Phil Jackson, probably the sharpest coach in the history of the NBA.

Lebron got his 2 championships with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. But aside from them, Lebron lacks the quality of support that kobe has. Lebron won his 3rd championship in Cleveland against the Team who set the regular season record of 73 wins. Lebron is the most dominant player in every championships he has won. Lebron has less championships but played the biggest part of all his championships.

To conclude everything, Lebron James is much of a team player and an all around player, the more dominant player and holds better stats while Kobe Bryant has more championships, has an amazing skill set and defensive ability. So who is better among these two hall of famers? Lebron? Kobe? what do you think? Both of them are one of the Greatest to ever play the game. Both of them brings inspiration to other people especially to the kids that idolize them. They are both good role models. Why don't we just stop the arguments of who is better? Why don't we just appreciate both of their greatness and legacy? Everyone has their own opinion about this debate. But for me, I think i will just appreciate both of them and stop hating. I think that is the best thing to do. :)

Oh one more thing, its really sad to think that they were not able to battle it out in the Finals. They did not able to compete against each other in the Finals. Who doesn't want to see that? Haha. Agree with me? Haha
