NBA DFS 10/20 Lineups/Results

Draftkings

45 minutes before lock, Eric Bledsoe was downgraded to "Questionable" due to an ankle sprain. Given a fast paced matchup with the defense free Lakers, he was a lock on most sites before that. I was forced to avoid him because DK/FD/FD2 don't have late swap and he wasn't in play on Yahoo. The optimal lineup I was left with on DK was decent, and it cashed most stuff, but there were better choices -- avoiding Kemba Walker was a mistake, a few of my choices were unpopular.

No screenshot of results as DK had trouble with updating statistics, but I cashed for $1701 on $2273 of buyins.

Fanduel

I mindlessly ran the optimal lineup that avoided Eric Bledsoe. This was fine, but think Kemba Walker at a discount from Kyrie was a better play. I think I could have used the saved money to pay up at SG or SF.

Yahoo

Another site that had trouble with updating statistics, so no results on screen, but think this was the strongest lineup construction. There was one coinflip spot -- Demarcus Cousins or Anthony Davis straight up -- I chose Cousins, while most chose Davis. I think I made the slightly worse choice for a number of reasons (pace of game, possible foul trouble for Cousins, increased Yahoo fantasy points for steals/blocks this year), but they scored similar so it didn't matter.

Paid $1966 in buyins and cashed for $3904.

FantasyDraft

Don't like my lineup choice here either. Needed Kemba Walker, and think I should have played Josh Jackson, who was in and out of my lineups and would have gained if Bledsoe missed. Think Tatum/Jackson > Horford/Simmons was an improvement, but working in Kemba was better.

Paid $3170.50 in buyins and cashed for $4590.

Overall Result: +$4,415.50

Decent results today for not liking the lineups. I was running low on time and had to set lineups for 4 sites with numbers I'm unconfident in -- the sample sizes with new rotations are small and previous season production is unreliable. Debating playing smaller or taking off a few weeks until I'm more confident in my numbers, but it's better to stay sharp by playing and I wouldn't watch the NBA if I had no skin in the game.

Still haven't decided if I'll play or not today. It's a good slate with a lot of injuries, but I might take a day off before NFL tomorrow.
