In the first two matches, Bangladesh secured the series victory before even losing a game. But in the final match of the series, the Tigers gave the English a taste of their own medicine by beating them by 16 runs. It was the first time in any format of cricket that Bangladesh earned such a reputation against England.

On Tuesday (March 14th), the touring party began with a bang, trying to chase down a target of 159 runs given by Bangladesh. In the first over of the innings, Abhishek Tamim Islam struck the first blow for Bangladesh by dismissing Salt for a duck. It was his first wicket in international cricket.

However, after losing Salt for 5 runs, the English bounced back with the bat of Malan-Buttler, especially David Malan, who started brilliantly from the beginning. He kept the team on the path of victory by adding an uninterrupted 50 runs in the second wicket partnership with Jos Buttler.

After a poor start in the first two matches, Malan got a glimpse of redemption in the final match of the series. He completed his personal half-century in just 43 balls but failed to continue for much longer. He was caught behind by Liton off Mustafizur Rahman's bowling after scoring 53 runs.

On the very next ball after Malan's dismissal, Buttler was also caught out, resulting in a crucial breakthrough for Bangladesh. England's captain, Eoin Morgan, soon followed Buttler to the pavilion after getting caught out by Soumya Sarkar's catch. Despite Sam Curran's unbeaten 29 runs, England fell short of the target by 16 runs, allowing Bangladesh to win the series 2-1.
