The last time India and Sri Lanka clashed in an ODI series, India won the series 5-0. And that's reflecting in the odds that bet365 is offering for an Indian win - 2/7 for India to go 1-0 up. Much like the Ashes tip for the final day of the Adelaide Test, these are odds you can avoid especially with India going into the series without their main captain, Virat Kohli.
Not that it should make too much of a difference, given the rest of the team is not too different, but the better option is to look at the Total Runs market.
There have been three ODIs here and the scores haven't been too high here. What's also something to look out for is the fact that it starts at 11.30 am - a day game & not a day-night one which might not be a high scoring one.
India v SL betting tips for 1st ODI:
A good option, as a result, could be a first innings score of Under 290.5 Runs. If the team batting first has a quick start, then, look to go under yet again at a higher score.

Reckon the Lankans can jag one of these games so backing them at 4s all series until they win one might be the go here. Series score 2-1 India. Lanka will only need to win 1 for me to be in profit.

Oh yes they will. They must have been stung hard. Had backed an under 295 score in the first ODI, but now even might look at Over scores if the markets are right.
Might look for India with a minus handicap at somewhere like pointsbet.

The Lankan batting line up seems to have grown some spine.. atleast that is what the last Test match suggested. So we can hope that they put up a much better fight than in the last ODI series (which was not too long back).
Indian batting line up without Kohli too will get tested.
What do you think about MS Dhoni and his future?
Funnily the guy who led the Lankan batting spine, Chandimal, has been sent back home for the ODIs. So it might get back to the square one for them. They should still give a reasonable fight to the Indian side but the hosts to be heavy favourites.
MS Dhoni should play on till the 2019 WC in the ODI format but he should have been long gone from T20Is.
