Ashes 2nd Test Betting Tips for Day 5 - Australia v England Predictions for Adelaide
Apologies for not having been around the last couple of days because I feel we might have missed out on a goldmine of betting markets. Here I am now, with the final day's tip for the second Ashes Test being played in Adelaide.

First of all, a big shout out for all cricket fans, and more vitally Test cricket fans. What a fascinating Test match it has been, one that has left all of us wanting more! That England are even in the Test match is a huge positive to have come out of the game which looked to be headed just one way when Australia took a 200-plus run lead.
Interestingly, Australia are still the bookmakers' odds on favourite to win this Test with bet365 offering 2/7 for their win. I will refrain from putting my money on such low odds on an Aussie win - one decent partnership for England will get them close to the win and at that stage the odds will be much better. So if you really want to gamble, wait on.
I would say, at this stage, the game's at knife's edge with the first hour deciding who takes the command of the game. The wicket of Joe Root is absolutely crucial and if he can see off the initial period, England could turn the game into their favour.
Again, avoid putting your money at this stage on Australia, not with those low odds.
Instead, look at the runs market. I sense England, after seeing off a few early overs, might look to take advantage of the fact that the ball's old and the new ball's due in 18 overs. They could look to up the ante just that slight bit and I wouldn't put it beyond them to score 32 runs over the next 13 overs as a result.

England blew out to the fat price of 80 at one stage on Betfair and now they are under 4. That is a huge swing. I agree that England could really make a go of this with Root playing a captains knock but I think the market is expecting them to buckle under pressure as they so often have. Watch the market prices swing wildly on the Root wicket!
Yep, that's exactly what they are expecting - an early English capitulation. I wouldn't mind putting a small amount on England if an early wicket falls in the hope there could be a partnership that takes them close and for one to then cash out at some sort of a profit. At this stage though, I am out of the winners' market.
The market was right in the end I guess. My 5-0 series scoreline bet is looking nicer now.

If I were a betting man, I would put my money on a early dismissal for Root on day 5. Bairstow, Ali et all showing a bit if fight. But Aus pocketing a 2-0 lead.
Root's 13/8 to be the next man out given he's got a night watchman with him but even if Woakes gets out early, there might not be too big a change in the odds on Root to be the next one out.
