Stadium Links

I'm a golfer - not a very good one, but a golfer nonetheless. So when I saw a random advertisement about Stadium Links coming to FedEx field just outside of D.C., I thought I had to do it. For those of you who have never heard of Stadium Links, the company turns professional football stadiums and ballparks into a unique, 9-hole golf experience.

I should've also included that I'm an Eagles fan, but I promise I didn't let that bias influence my experience (too much). This experience is a little expensive for the basic package. I paid about $150 (total) for my brother and me to play 9 holes. They have other VIP packages and add ons, summarized below:

Admission into the exclusive VIP Lounge where you will have access to luxury accommodations
Access to private warm-up bays
Nine additional golf balls to count toward your score
Complimentary round at "The Chipping Challenge"
Complimentary round at "The Putting Challenge"

With the basic package, you're only allotted 9 balls. That's right. $75 for 9 shots, whereas I'd get to play at a respectable course for the same price. That being said, I had a blast! The two of us were partnered with a nice couple. I could see random pairings being hit or miss, so I recommend filling up a foursome if you're thinking about trying Stadium Links in the future. The experience itself is pretty special. I think everyone should consider giving Stadium Links a try. It would serve great gift for that avid golfing friend or family member, especially if, unlike my experience, it's taking place in a stadium where one of your favorite teams play.
