Chess Blitz of the Day

Tournament = Semifinals - London Sixteen Rapid 2013.

Boris Gelfand

Although the years went by, Gelfand's performance did not decline. This was demonstrated in the 2013 Candidate Tournament in London. Despite losing both games to Magnus Carlsen, he showed that his best days were not over and finished a few months later second by tiebreaking at the Alekhine Memorial. Shortly after (2014), it surely obtained one of the best performances of its race, gaining Memorial Tal, half a point above Magnus Carlsen.

Michael Adams

In 1989 he obtained the title of Grand Master. In 1993 he shared the first place (with Anand) in the tournament of candidates of Groningen version PCA. In the eliminatory meetings he is eliminated in second round by Anand. In 1994 plays the tournament of candidates FIDE version being eliminated by Boris Gélfand in first round. In 1997 participates in the world championship FIDE, that for the first time was celebrated by eliminatory ones instead of the classic format. In this event participated most of the best players of the world (with the exception of Kaspárov, Krámnik and Kamsky).
