Nice Throw, but Kole Calhoun Has Got to GO! 👎👎👎

in #sports6 years ago

Los Angeles Angels' Kole Calhoun won "Player of the Game" honors for tonight's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The big question, of course, is why? Why? WHY!?!???

Player of the Game? He almost LOST the game!

His dufus move to go for third base on a two-out inning cost the Angels a run in an extremely tight game. Rather than end the inning down 3-2, dumbass Calhoun left the Angles empty-handed, down 3-1.

Then, Calhoun failed to come up with a critical fly-ball catch at the bottom of the ninth.

Player of the Game?

This is also the guy that I believe statistically is the WORST player in MLB! The worst. Let that absoluteness sink in...

And it's no wonder why he sucks so bad. Not only is his batting average nearing negative territory, his offense is actually a liability.

Calhoun can almost always be counted on to put the ball exactly where you don't need it.

Whenever I see the Angels in a must-score situation, my heart sinks when Calhoun is the one swinging the bat.

Player of the Game?

He only got that honor because his throw from the outfield to third base -- which I admit was a damn good one -- saved the game.

But what the announcers or whoever it is that hands out these awards fail to mention is that if Calhoun would have stayed on second base, the Angels wouldn't have needed his game-saving throw in the first place!

In other words, his net contribution is zero.

Simmons DESERVES the Player of the Game award, along with a special mention to...who else? Shohei Ohtani!

Simmons made great plays on BOTH sides of the diamond. He also had the tie-breaking single that brought two runners home.

Ohtani was his usual clutch self, driving a broken-bat single to center-field, and producing 2 RBIs. If memory serves me correctly, Ohtani has 19 RBIs on 23 starts as DH.

This is the player that you need to build your team around -- because he's about to become the GOAT in a few years -- and remove any liabilities.

That liability is Kole Calhoun

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to let the immediate sentiment make me lose sight of the big picture. Calhoun has got to go.

Yeah, it sounds harsh, but would you rather be nice, or would you rather play baseball in October?

I'd choose the latter.

And the PAYING fans deserve it as well!

Angels are looking legit this year. Despite Calhoun.

Eppler is doing great things in the club

I love me some Kole Calhoun
