SHOULD COACHES KEEP RECORDS?

in #sports7 years ago

There is a need for coaches to keep proper records in their field. One way to do this is to adhere to the standards that have been set in place and the records act as journals for the coaches. Records are important in case there is a problem in future or in case they need to refer to a certain case. Records serve as evidence that a person received coaching services and there was an exchange of services between a coach and an individual.

There are specific guidelines for the record and notes that a coach takes. They claim that anything that is written in ink or typed counts as a record. In order for the records to be accepted, they need to be signed by the coach. They also need to be legible and written in ink. The notes need to be dated. The information that the record have should be relevant, legible and very objective. As long as records have all these characteristics, then it means that they are acceptable.

There are also other requirements for records. They should be signed and they should be very up to date. The notes also need to show that the coach knows what he was doing and they need to show his process of dealing with his client

Most coaches write all their records in a book/ file and this is easy to help them to keep records of all their sessions. In the event that a coach wants to use video/ audio means to record sessions, there must be consent from the client. The coach also stores the consent form away from the audio in order to keep it private.
