New breed tournament
So as I wrote about yesterday I went to the new breed tournament yesterday and it was amazing. My team from my gym had a pretty good day. We took 2 gold 1 silver and one bronze but the biggest win was my buddy Doug who won the belt in the absolute division. We brought 9 competitors and had 5 place.for those of you who follow UFC you may know Alexey Oleynek he competed and won the advanced super heavyweight division and also competed in the absolute division
where he was beaten by Luis Matta the owner of Gracie Tampa
that's Luis in the green going against Doug in the absolute finals Luis studies under Robert Denofrio and Rob Kahn which you may know studied under Royce Gracie himself. As though Luis beating Alexey wasn't enough of an upset Doug who is my training partner at the gym and one of my best friends who is a 44 year old RN from Springhill went on to beat Luis in the absolute finals to win the absolute division championship
that's Doug and our instructor Paul Mello from Extreme MMA after winning the championship. I don't think I could be more proud of our guys from the gym
By the was today is also my 40th birthday but I got my present yesterday watching all my friends do so well in the new breed tournament. So just remember you are never too old to do what you love until next time thanks for reading and have a great day
