Zwift on the treadmill, what's next?
October 2016, chief-editor Hans Cleemput was breaking a sweat running on Alii Drive, Hawaii and, as usual, making no progress whatsoever. Not because he's in such a bad shape, but because he was among the first to test the new Zwift prototype. Treadmill running in a 30° heath, it seems a bit odd. Even more so because he was the only runner among dozens of cyclists. Colonel Sanders proved everybody wrong last year by emphasizing indoor training with his superb performance in Kona last year. In the meanwhile, Zwift has further developed its run application and proudly presents Zwift Run in 2018, with separate run courses. With an ANT+ of Bluetooth compatible run-pod Zwift Run is free of charge on every treadmill.

Zwift shifts it's attention from cyclists to runners and triathletes, which is good news. After bingeing movie after movie on the turbo, they came with a solution to do group rides from your living room. Organized training sessions, classic courses, notorious climbs, meet and greets and team presentations, Zwift had it all. And now it will be possible to participate in a sold-out Berlin marathon, or a 10km local race. The release is not that much of a surprise, but the question is: when? Now!
The bèta version was usable for paying Zwift members, but it used the same courses as the cyclists. The full version contains a wide variety on course, a possibility to upload your training program and organized group runs. Possibilities are limitless. This development proves that Zwift pays more and more attention to multisporters. Keep posted on this blog for further developments.
Zwift Run in Belgium at TS Bikes
The mail goal is to enlarge the Zwift Run scope to a group workout platform, similar as its evolution on the biking equivalent. Stephan Tytgadt (TS-Bikes) is crowned Zwifts Country Representative.
Next Tuesday, 27/02, he will host an official Zwift Run press release at Sport&Spine Ninove, featuring Seppe Odeyn as Zwift ambassador. 3athlon.be will be present and provide live updates!
