Man City owns the most expensive football history squad - Sport #60

in #sports7 years ago (edited)

Premier League leaders have poured $ 1.08 billion into the transfer of players, more than any other team.

Statistics released by CIES show that City have surpassed $ 1 billion in transfer fees, after recruiting center-back Aymeric Laporte last month. The Frenchman is arguably the most expensive contract in Man City history, with $ 80 million.

City's stance is higher than PSG's - spending $ 253 million to make Neymar the most expensive player on the planet. The value of the players of the French team reached $ 990 million, ranking second in the list of CIES .

Man Utd ranked third with $ 919 million, Barca (891 million), Chelsea (728 million) and Real Madrid (611 million). In the top 10 there are two representatives of the Premier League, that is Liverpool (567 million) and Arsenal (495 million).

In the Bundesliga and Serie A, not surprisingly, Bayern (551 million) and Juventus (580 million) surpassed the rest. Striker Gonzalo Higuain made up 17% of the Serie A title, after moving from Napoli in the summer of 2016 for $ 99m.

The squad average of 20 Premier League teams is also far outweighed by the remaining four European Leagues, with $ 358 million. They are La Liga (161 million), Serie A (152 million), Bundesliga (139 million) and Ligue I (119 million).

Of the 98 clubs on the list, Troyes, who is currently playing for Ligue I, finished last year with $ 2.46 million for the current squad.

i remember a certain barcelona squad regarded as the most expensive bench back then

Great read my friend! Man City may have spent the most in the transfer market over the last few years, but have you seen what Man U is spending in weekly wages?? Worst part his both clubs will spend more in this Summer transfer.

I read on a news article recently, i think on BBC or somewhere, about the way top league leaders this season actually bought the league. The article reviewed how the top clubs across Europes top 5 leagues are actually "buying" the league instead of winning it. For example, Most of them are toping the second placed club with more than 10 points. Manchester city is leading in the EPL with 16 points now.
So it was argued in the article that the leagues are becoming less competitive and clubs with little financial power are being placed by the side. How much you can buy determines what you can win. After looking closely at that article, i began to see reason to believe that money is actually influencing the soccer far more than it should
