Hello friends of steemit, I hope you are all doing very well and that all your investments will continue to grow day after day. You may have noticed that when a player is injured on the football field, when he is tired or simply by strategy he is replaced by a new player. Well, this rule hasn't always been true since the beginning of football or in the first world cups.

Previously the matches were played until the last minute with the 22 players who were from the beginning, if any of them were injured including the goalkeeper, the team ended up playing with those who were left on the field. According to current records, German player Horst Eckel is said to have been the first substitution in the history of football in a qualifying match in 1953 following an injury he suffered in that match.

Years later in the English league in the seasons from 1965 to 1966, a team substitution was allowed on any condition of injury. In the following season from 1967 to 1968, the rule already allowed substitutions for technical reasons. The first English league player to be substituted was Keith Peacock.

Also in Spain in the mid-1960s, the replacement of goalkeepers was allowed only in the event of injury. All of these determinations were made by FIFA to apply them to its regulations at the World Cups.

It was at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico that the official announcement of a player's replacement in the event of injury was made. And it was precisely the Russian Pusatch who inaugurated the standard in this World Cup.

Years later for the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA, the FIFA allowed the substitution of two players and a goalkeeper for each team. Already in 1995 3 changes were allowed in any position on the field of play, this rule has remained in force until today.

Player substitutions have been of great importance to give continuity to the games and some equality when one of the players is affected by an injury. But it has also been used to change the tactical scheme proposed by the coaches at the start of the game. In some cases the changes are used to burn time and maintain the favorable score for the team, a fact that has been classified as unprofessional by some experts in the field. This is also in the hands of FIFA, but to date no effective way has been found to eliminate all these immoral advantages of winning a game.
