Alexis Sanchez appears to have offered a rebuttal of accusations that his move from Arsenal to Manchester United is motivated by money after retweeting an article defending his imminent switch. The Chile forward's transfer to Old Trafford is expected to be completed soon, with Sanchez posting a video on Instagram today showing him boarding a private plane ahead of a reported medical. It is also thought Henrikh Mkhitaryan has agreed to move to the Emirates Stadium in a swap deal. Many have criticised Sanchez, whose salary is set to increase markedly at United, with former Arsenal defender Martin Keown labelling the former Barca forward as "the biggest mercenary in football". However, British journalist Oliver Holt defended United's decision to spend big, stating in a Daily Mail article that it is the nature of the market, while also claiming that Sanchez – who was previously a target for Manchester City – will also be taking a step up in his career.
Is Sanchez move motivated by money and do you think a move to Man Utd is a step up in his career?
Can not wait for his move. He will be way better off. But Arsenal is second riches club and still demanding that kind of money. I think the move is motivated with a thirst for success @xtel

No doubt that they are complaining about these amounts. But I feel like Sanchez is better off at MAN U because there are better opportunities. What intrigues me more is Mkhitaryan rumours @xtel
I agree with you that Sanchez will perform well in Man United and have more playing time than in city. But for I rival side I think that's why arsenal demand for Mkhitaryan @rihchie.ebb
