CFR Cluj - The Brand New Romanian Football Champions

Hey there once again! For those interested in football, today I'd also like to spread the news about what just happened in the first Romanian football championship (Liga 1), namely the fact that the football club CFR 1907 Cluj based in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, won its fourth non-consecutive league title, making them one of the all time top teams in the history of the Romanian football.

While historically speaking not a powerhouse, CFR Cluj got back to the first Romanian football league in 2004 and ever since won 10 national trophies: 4 Liga 1 titles, 4 Romanian Cups, and 2 Romanian Super Cups. The good results that they achieved all these seasons also made it possible for them to play in the European Cups for the very first time.

They competed both in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League during multiple seasons, with their best performance to the day being reaching the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League during the 2012-13 season (when they were defeated by Internazionale Milano). They also won over Manchester United 1-0 in the very same season's UEFA Champions League, at home, on their home ground, the Old Trafford stadium.

Given the fact that they're the new Romanian football champions they will be playing in the 2nd qualifying round for the forthcoming UEFA Champions League season.
