Liverpool kept its chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, after settling Manchester United by winning 4-2 in the match that was hosted by Old Trafford on Thursday evening, in the postponed match of round 34 of the English Premier League.

Liverpool's quadruple was scored by Diego Guetta (34), Roberto Firmino (45-47) and Mohamed Salah (90), while United scored a double by Bruno Fernandez (10) and Marcus Rashford (68).

With that result, Liverpool raised its tally to 60 points in fifth place, while United stuck at 70 points in second place.

The first attempt in the match came in the fourth minute for United, with a header from Cavani that went wide.

A minute later Alison missed the ball, and Cavani grabbed it on the edge of the penalty area, striking a ball that passed shortly to the post.

Manchester United opened the scoring in the tenth minute, with an outside-foot shot from Bruno from inside the penalty area, which hit Phillips and landed the net.

Liverpool got a penalty kick in the 26th minute, after Phillips was handicapped by Bailey, and the referee retracted his decision after returning to the mouse technique.

Liverpool almost equalized the score in the 33rd minute, with a missile from Jota from inside the penalty area, Henderson was brilliant in removing it to a corner kick.

Liverpool succeeded in adjusting the score in the 34th minute, after Phillips hit a ball from inside the penalty area, which was followed by Jota with a heeled shot that hit Henderson's net.

United tried to regain the lead again in the 41st minute, with a shot from Pogba from the left side of the penalty area, which passed shortly to the post.

Liverpool added the second goal in the third minute of stoppage time, after Arnold sent a cross from a foul, followed by Firmino, with a header that struck the net, ending the first half with the progress of the Lever (2-1).

Liverpool began the second half by adding the third goal in the 47th minute, after Arnold hit a ball from inside the penalty area, which was blocked by Henderson and Firmino followed it with a shot in the net.

Liverpool missed an opportunity to score the fourth goal in the 59th minute, after Firmino passed a distinctive match for Jota inside the penalty area, to separate the Portuguese from Henderson and hit a strong ball that hit the post.

Liverpool continued to crawl towards United's goal, after Salah passed the ball to Arnold on the left side of the penalty area, to hit the latter with a strong ball, which was blocked by Henderson.

United managed to reduce the difference in the 68th minute, after Cavani passed a distinctive pass to Rashford, who was alone with Alison, and hit a ball that hit the net.

Liverpool tried to respond with a shot from outside the penalty area through Arnold in the 69th minute, but his ball went wide.

United almost scored the equalizer in the 70th minute, after the ball cleared against Greenwood in the 6-yard area, to hit a ground ball that Phillips removed from the goal line.

Liverpool missed the opportunity to kill the match in the 75th minute, after Arnold sent Mane, who was alone with Henderson and tried to dodge him, but the United keeper caught the ball.

Rashford responded by manipulating Phillips on the left side of the penalty area, after which he fired a ball that passed to the post.

And United get a violation at the boundaries of the penalty area in the 79th minute, which Bruno executed with a ball that went over the bar.

Liverpool fired a bullet of mercy on United in the 90th minute, after Jones passed a ball between Salah, who was alone from the center of the field until he reached the penalty area, hitting a ball that hit Henderson's net, to end the meeting with Liverpool's victory (4-2).
